3rd class update

8th Dec 2024

3rd class have been very busy in recent weeks. Following 2 workshops with Ana Faye each child completed a piece of weaving. Some children decided to hang their pieces from some wood while others displayed them on mount card. The children  agreed that it was worth all the hard work and effort. The pieces have been decorating our classroom and admired by many visitors.
The class have also been busy sewing. Threading a needle, making a knot, tacking and using a running stitch have all been a new experience for many and a real learning curve. The children benefited from lots of help along the way from Sandra Hunter a volunteer from the local ladies ICA, our SNAs, 5th and 6th class children and some TY students. They made mini Christmas stockings which they are very proud of. They will help to decorate the hall for the up coming events and the children will take them home before the holidays.
They have been making many beautiful decorations for our Craft Fair on Thursday. A huge thanks to Majella Brennan for all her help and expertise.
The children made 3D snowflakes from paper. A huge thanks to the boys from 6th class for all their help and guidance. These will also help to decorate the hall for the upcoming events in preparation for Christmas.
