Biodiversity- Planting of Arbutus plants.

10th May 2024

In association with Rathcormac Tidy Towns, members of the Green Schools committee along with pupils from Mr.Brennan's class planted two beautiful Arbutus plants.

Known as the 'Dwarf Strawberry Tree' we learned that this part of Europe is the farthest North that they can be planted in.

Thanks to Fr.Tom and his gardener Frank we were able to add our bit to the world to improve biodiversity!

We took a photo beside the plants to mark the occasion and track its growth.

It's super to see the interest that the pupils have and to see the number of worms in the soil too!
