Christmas Assembly 2024
It was a busy Christmas assembly on Thursday the 19th of December in the hall at 11.15am. We were delighted to welcome a large crowd of parents, grandparents and families to our final assembly of 2024.
The assembly began with the presentation of the prizes to the winners of the Recycled Christmas Tree competition. Mr Brennan on behalf of the Green Schools committee complemented all the children who had entered the competition. It was very difficult to judge as the standard was very high once again this year and he thanked the Tidy Towns Committee for sponsoring the project.
Our Junior Infants were first on stage singing Up on the rooftop to great applause ๐. Senior Infants entertained us all with their action packed rendition of All I want for Christmas ๐
. Both classes were fantastic.
The twenty winners of the Christmas Art competition were presented with their prizes by members of the Student Council who organised that competition.
Oh Holy Night was performed beautifully by Mr Kelly and Ms McLean’s classes ,well done to both classes for their lovely singing ๐ต. Alanna accompanied by Rachel and Moninne treated us to a wonderful tune on her harp, we love to listen to their musical talents.
First class gave us a first class performance of Blitzen Boogie. We just loved all their dance moves.
Second classes performance featured their original song It’s Christmas composed with Gavin Murphy from the Teacher Artist Partnership, it’s definitely a number one hit with us here in Rathcormac.
The 7 children celebrating birthdays this week enjoyed being centre stage with the whole crowd singing Happy Birthday to them. ๐
Our Parents Association was represented by Aine Munds at the assembly and she thanked all the staff and parents for their support all year long. The 30 lucky winners of the PA sponsored raffle received their selection boxes .
Ms Wood’s class really enjoyed performing Merry Christmas everyone . They choreographed the piece themselves and they have some great moves. Our final performance of the day was 4th class who sang Donde Esta Santa Claus . They had wonderful props and the crowd gave them a huge well deserved ovation at the end.
As our music group performed Jingle Bells and Santa Claus is coming to town ,a loud bell rang out and a special visitor appeared at the door.
Guess Who it was ….
Happy Christmas from everyone in Rathcormac NS . Wishing you all a very peaceful Christmas and good health in 2025.
