Concern Debate
12th Dec 2023
It was new experience for the pupils of 6th class as they took part in their first formal debate as part of the Concern Primary School Debate Competition in association with Sligo Education Centre.
Rathcormac N.S. 6th class team had been busy preparing for the debate for the last number of weeks and today they took on a very strong Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál team from Ballymote. Rathcormac N.S. were the proposing team and the motion was 'Homework Should Be a Thing of the Past'. It was a very evenly contested debate and thankfully the proposal was carried.
Well done to Heather Anne (Chairperson), Mia (timekeeper), Tara, Charley and Eve (speakers) and our team of researchers Clare, Caoimhe and Heather. Congratulations girls and we look forward to more debating in the new year.
