Each year we host a fundraising event in aid of Sligo Hospice. It is a local charity which supports families at a very difficult time in their lives. Each class gets the chance to come to the hall and enjoy some homemade goodies and a drink. Our 6th class students help run the event looking after all their fellow students in a very efficient and professional manner.
Between 1pm and 2.30 pm we welcome parents, grandparents and many people from our local community to come along for a chat and a cuppa. Our Student Council and 6th class students are on hand to welcome people and to help serve all the refreshments .
This year once again we had a great day. From early morning the tables in the hall were laden down with homemade cakes, buns ,tarts and treats.A huge thank you to all who baked goodies for the day and to our parents and friends who supported this amazing event again. The children always love this special day in our school calendar. Thank you to Catriona for all her fantastic work and to all the staff for supporting the coffee day. We will present the money raised to a representative from the hospice at an assembly in November. To date we have €1680 collected. Míle Buíochas.
