We were delighted to welcome Fr. Tom, parents, grandparents and members of our local community to the Hunger Lunch in aid of Trocaire on Wednesday the 9th of April. Our 6th class had been busy for the last few days preparing for this special day.
They designed and developed a very informative presentation on the work Trocaire does to support people worldwide. This year, the focus is on Guatemala and the projects Trocaire volunteers are working on in that country. Well done to our pupils on their excellent presentation, so clearly delivered to our guests.
The children all collected some sponsorship and completed a fast day. They were hungry! However, they did enjoy a bowl of soup and a fresh bread roll with their friends. The money raised, €840 will be sent to Trocaire to support their work in Guatemala.
Many thanks to all our 6th class pupils and to Mr Kelly and Ms McLean for organising the event. Also, thanks to Kate, Catríona ,Ms Coggins and Mrs Connell who made the soup and scones for the lunch. It was all delicious!
And a very special thank you to all those who took the time to come along to support us today on such a beautiful sunny afternoon. We appreciate it, and we hope you all have a lovely Easter.
