Thank you to all who came to support the Hunger Lunch in aid of Trócaire today. Our Sixth Class pupils and their teacher Mr Kelly organised the event. They were inspired after a visit from a group of Transition year students, all past pupils completing the John Paul 2 Awards in our parish, who spoke on behalf of the Trócaire campaign to support people in Somalia this year.
Two of our pupils explained the reason behind the lunch to those who attended today's lunch and there was an excellent PowerPoint presentation accompanying their speeches. Fr Tom was delighted to attend the lunch and thanked the children and Mr Kelly for organising the wonderful event. Thank you to all who sponsored the children and to those who donated today. We are grateful to all the staff who helped to make today's event so successful, making and serving the delicious soup and helping out all day. To date, we have raised €640.50 towards this most worthy cause.
We hope that our sixth-class pupils will have fond memories of their Tróciare Fundraising Day.
