We had forty shades of green all around the school today as we celebrated Lá Glas organised by Mrs Connell and our Student Council. It was lovely to see the wide variety of St Patrick's Day t-shirts, dresses, football jerseys and leprechaun hats. This year we decided to help raise awareness of Dementia and collected money for this fantastic charity. Thank you to the members of our student council who collected and counted the money, we have €437 but hope this figure will increase next week.
The traditional Lá Glas assembly took place in the hall. Representatives from Sligo Food and Furniture Bank were in attendance to receive €500, raised on Pancake Day. We were also treated to music, poetry and song from a number of classes in honour of our patron saint.
The Student Council wish everyone a very happy St Patrick's Day.
