Friday the 23rd of June was a special but sad day in the school as we wished Bernie and Mr O ‘Sullivan every happiness in their retirement and thanked them for their fantastic contributions to our school. We welcomed Mr O‘ Sullivan’s family to our assembly and they were joined by Fr Tom ,members of our BOM ,retired colleagues and a large group of parents together with some past pupils. The whole school came together and shared great memories from over the years.
The hall was beautifully decorated with all classes producing wonderful artwork to celebrate the retirements.There was a fantastic display of talent from all classes. The assembly began with our music group playing a selection of Mr O’ Sullivan’s favourite tunes and then each class performed specially composed poems or sang songs for this lovely occasion. In the speeches Mr O’ Sullivan and Bernie were congratulated on their achievements over the years and wished every happiness and many years of good health to enjoy their retirements.
Presentations were made to Bernie and Mr O’Sullivan on behalf of the children and the parents in the school, the Parent’s Association and the BOM. The assembly ended with all the children singing Goodbye Mr O’ Sullivan.
