On Thursday 11th May 6th class travelled to Rosses Point for a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat Station.
We learned a lot about the incredible work the RNLI does, when it was established in Sligo and how to continues to function 200 years on from when it was first founded. Pupils were amazed by the level of commitment volunteers give to keep our lives safe at sea.
Many pupils noted their favourite part of the trip was getting the opportunity to sit into the rescue boat and see the equipment RNLI members use on a mission.
