The county finals of the Eason's Spelling Bee competition was held in Rathcormac Hall on Thursday the 27th of March 2025. Rathcormac NS Student Council members welcomed the visitors to the school.
Eight children from schools around County Sligo took part in the annual spelling competition. They had a small group of supports, including a teacher or parent with them. All eight competitors cruised through the first 3 rounds. As the rounds progressed, the spellings became much more challenging. We are very proud of our representative Edgar who got to the final 3 in the competition.
Eventually, after seven rounds, it was down to a head-to-head. The eventual winner was Teddy from Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré.
Congratulations to Teddy and best of luck representing Sligo in the regional finals in May.
