The children in Senior Infants welcomed Rebecca Massey into their classroom. Rebecca is a registered artist with the BLAST residency programme. BLAST aims to provide the pupils in schools, time and the space to work with a professional artist on imaginative and joyful projects. Senior Infants will be working with Rebecca during the month of February.
During this session, the children brainstormed words related to Spring with Rebecca. They then went on a nature walk outside where they collected leaves.
The children traced the outside of the leaf and the leaf's veins using coloured chalk. Rebecca encouraged the children the children to draw a tree with branches using their arm and hand. The children worked really well. They are excited about their next session with Rebecca!
