Student Council Plans

The Student Council met with Mrs. Connell on Tuesday the 14th of November to discuss the plans in the run-up to Christmas.
The Student Council together with our Sixth Class is invited to a Consultative meeting with the Planners from Sligo County Council on Monday the 20th of November. They will have the opportunity to view the draft plans for Sligo and for our local area in Carney. They will be part of discussion groups and will represent the children's views on the facilities and amenities that should be in a local area for its residents when plans are being developed.

The Student Council also plans to do a special newsletter focusing on our 6th-class students who have shown great entrepreneurial skills in coming up with projects to sell at the Christmas Craft Fair. We have lovely handmade wooden decorations and table centerpieces,  a team designing Christmas Cards and birthday cards, Christmas-themed decorations using Aquabeads, and a few more in the pipeline.

In addition, there will be a Christmas colouring /art competition. They know it will be a difficult job judging these competitions.
