Student Council
These are the members of our Student Council for 2022-2023. We held elections last October and each class from 3rd-6th elected two members to the Student Council. We are delighted to have a very hard-working, enthusiastic group of students again this year. They meet with Mrs. Connell regularly and help plan events in the school. They gather ideas and suggestions from all the classes and present their views at the meetings.
The Student Council has been on hand to greet visitors to our school for the Christmas Carol Services and Grandparent's Day to name but a few. They worked tirelessly preparing the bookstall for the Christmas Fair and were actively involved on the night helping out on all the stalls in the hall. They facilitated the completion of the Christmas Fair pupil feedback surveys inputting the results. We now have a clear picture of the activities the pupils enjoyed on the night and several new ideas for the future.
Two members of our committee suggested a guest speaker and we were delighted to welcome Emma a nutritionist to the school who provided valuable advice on healthy eating and the need for good quality food to fuel your body to help you learn, play and enjoy life to the full.
At present they are involved with a project with Ultan from Sligo County Library on Cruinneog na nÓg. They are helping to survey the children from 3rd to 6th class on the activities and events they would like to see included in the programme of events on the 10th of June 2023. Two members of our Council will join with children from two other schools to form another committee to support Ultan and the team in Sligo County Library to prepare for this fantastic event in June.
